Facebook users in the U.S. will soon be able to know which of their friends are nearby, using a new application!
«Nearby Friends» app has to be activated by the user, as Facebook cannot share information without prior consent.
More specifically, through the GPS system of the smartphone, anyone will be able to find out which of his friends are nearby – provided the service is enabled.
The app will also allow you to share your exact location with specific friends from Facebook. The location will be available for approximately one hour – although the user will have the option to change this setting!
«Nearby Friends» was created due to the increasing popularity of location-based mobile apps, but unlike these applications, Facebook will only show your location to people you ‘re already friends with.
