SYRIZA-ANEL set to work together again…

What will the next day bring for SYRIZA?

Newsroom September 20 10:01

The news from the Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) headquarters point to another collaboration with the right-wing populist Independent Greeks (ANEL) party. Indications show that both parties will gather over 151 seats needed to form a government. SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras had phone contact with Independent Greeks leader Panos Kammenos on the formation of a government, say sources.

Tsipras also had contacts with party officials and the group’s political secretariat and central committee are likely to meet on Monday. SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras is due to visit President Prokopis Pavlopoulos on Monday to receive a mandate to form a government.

SYRIZA factions refer to a “clear win”, stating that the Greek nation has once again justified the choices made by Tsipras.

Mitsotakis: Greece will not be challenged by anyone with the Belharra frigates – Our goal is to support farmers with transparent subsidies

Specifically:

– If the most generous exit polls prove true and SYRIZA and ANEL gather 35% and 4% of the votes respectively, then Tsipras and Kammenos may end up with 153 deputies in Parliament collectively.

– Another scenario would be for SYRIZA to turn to socialist PASOK. Tsipras had stated this intent prior to the elections, with PASOK getting more than 160 seats.
