Cyprus dispute: Cavusoglu urges for wider recognition of the pseudo-state!

The minister accused the EU of -allegedly- not having kept its promises to call off the embargoes imposed on the pseudo-state

Newsroom December 29 11:11

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu stressed the importance of taking action in order that Northern Cyprus,“TRNC”, and its citizens’ passport be recognized by more countries and establish more representations in cities worldwide.

The above statements were made on Monday during budget discussions at the Turkish parliament. The minister also accused the EU of not having kept its promises to call off the embargoes imposed on the pseudo-state.

In view of the forthcoming elections in both the south and north parts of Cyprus, Cavusoglu proposed talks with the new Turkish Cypriot authorities after January to plan any future steps in that direction.

Finally, he absolved Turkey of all responsibility for the breakdown of the negotiations that took place in Crans-Montana in July.
