Windows 10 update causing widespread problems to users

PC users were having trouble with Google Chrome

Newsroom May 21 05:29

Windows 10 April 2018 update is now causing issues for owners of Microsoft’s own-brand Surface devices, according to the latest reports.
Microsoft launched its big Windows 10 April 2018 update at the end of last month but since then it has been hit by a number of issues.
Soon after the Windows 10 update was launched it was revealed that some PC users were having trouble with Google Chrome and the Cortana assistant.
Those affected said since upgrading to the Windows 10 April 2018 update Chrome and Cortana were freezing and locking computers.
While others on the Microsoft forums reported a bug in the KB4103721 update which was causing some PCs to enter into a cycle of fails boots.
This left PCs unable to load up Windows 10 properly with the only solution doing a full system restore.
In the aftermath of these reports Microsoft updated patch notes for KB4103721 to say: “select devices with Intel SSD 600p

Series or Intel SSD Pro 6000p Series may repeatedly enter a UEFI screen after restart or stop working”.
And now it has emerged that Microsoft Surface owners have also reported issues with the Windows 10 April 2018 update.
According to Techradar, users have reported that last year’s Surface Pro is freezing after installing the latest Windows 10 update.
This is apparently because the April 2018 patch is currently incompatible with the device’s Intel SSD6 drive.
Microsoft forum users have also reported issues with the Surface Studio, saying mouses and keyboard keep disconnecting since installing the patch.
Responding to the reported issues on the forums, a Microsoft representative said: “We are currently working on a solution that will be provided in a future Windows Update.
“Please continue to check for Surface and Windows Updates to ensure your device has the most current firmware and software available.”
