Mysterious “sea creature” with squirming tentacles washes up on a beach in Vietnam! (VIDEO-PHOTOS)

Animal or vegetable?

Newsroom August 10 02:22

A strange-looking sea creature has baffled locals with its unusual appearance after it washed up on a beach in southern Vietnam.

The footage shows the mysterious black brown coloured sea-dweller wriggling it’s hundreds of tentacles after being captured by an intrigued tour guide in Kien Giang province last month.

Du Nam Du, the man who spotted it, put it on a green table to get a closer look with other beachgoers who were equally intrigued by its strange alien-like shape and movements.

Nam Du said: ‘I don’t know whether it’s an animal, vegetation or something else.’

Local Kim Tho said: ‘It’s a monster. One day it will come back out of the ocean. It’ll be ten times bigger.’

The mystery creature was later released back into the ocean – with locals still confused by what it was.

Experts believe that the creature is likely to be a piece of seaweed reacting to the air. There are dozens of smaller tentacles on each branch, all moving around in different directions.
