MediaMarkt & Public join forces in landmark deal

The two companies agreed in a huge deal announced today

In a landmark move in the consumer electronics retail market, MediaMarkt and Public have entered into a strategic partnership.

Olympia, a shareholder of Public in Greece and Cyprus, and Media-Saturn-Holding GmbH (MSH), a shareholder of Media Markt Greece, sealed a deal aimed at creating a new, dynamic retailer.

The milestone agreement for the domestic electrical and electronic consumer market will offer the widest range of products and services in the electronics market.

Christos Kalogerakis, the CEO of Public, will be put at the helm of the new retailer. “With the agreement we announced today, we are creating the most dynamic Retail Group in the market, redefining the balance of power and expanding the choices we offer to consumers in terms of the portfolio of our products, outlets, prices and services”, he said commenting on the huge deal.
