Europe’s Climate Leaders 2022 (infographic)

At the top of the 2022 ranking is computer peripheral manufacturer Logitech

Newsroom May 30 03:30

For the second time, Statista has worked with the Financial Times to produce the ranking of ‘Europe’s Climate Leaders’. The 2022 edition comes at a time when companies “are being pushed to raise their game even further on climate change”, as the FT reports.

The companies which made it to the top of the list are those which implemented the largest reductions in the emissions resulting from their own operations as well as from generating the energy they used. Overall, Statista measured the respective decreases in the tonnes of emissions of CO2-equivalent per €1m of revenue (core emissions intensity) from 2015 to 2020.

At the top of the 2022 ranking is computer peripheral manufacturer Logitech, based in Switzerland. Their 46.8 percent reduction in core emissions intensity over the assessed time period put them marginally ahead of second-placed Italian utilities firm CAP on 45.2 percent. The UK was the country where the largest number of companies on the list are based. The 120 making the cut is far ahead of second-placed Germany with 52, and third-placed France with 44.
