Mitsotakis at the EU Summit: More innovative policies to fight traffickers are needed (photos)

Migration is the main topic of discussion at the EU Summit along with the war in Ukraine

Newsroom June 29 09:36

In his position on illegal immigration at the ongoing EU Summit Kyriakos Mitsotakis underlined the need for more innovative anti-smuggler policies at the European level to prevent departures that put human lives at risk.

He also referred to the reduction in migration flows achieved by Greece, a result of the improvement of cooperation with Turkey recently.

Migration is the main topic of discussion at the EU Summit along with the war in Ukraine.

EU leaders had the opportunity, before the meeting, to speak with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

“At this critical moment for European security, NATO and EU cooperation is more important than ever. We continue to strengthen our cooperation, including supporting Ukraine and protecting critical infrastructure,” Stoltenberg commented.
