According to the mayor of Larissa, the flood zone of Pinios in Larissa has been evacuated

The level of the river Pinios has exceeded all previous recorded ones and has reached 9.5 meters while the huge amounts of water continue to flow in the direction of the city of Larissa.

According to the latest information just before 10 a.m. of Friday, the biggest concern of the Fire Brigade HQ is the labor houses of Larissa to Giannouli and the Jumbo area.

As they explained to protothema.gr, given that the flow of the Pinios is not straight, the most dangerous points for overflow are at the bends of the river.

In a part of the district of Agios Thomas, in the city of Larissa, which is adjacent to Pinios, the water has now covered roads, yards of houses, while residents say that the water reaches – maybe even exceeds – the knee level.

In fact, some residents leave their homes and take refuge at their relatives’ houses.

According to the mayor of Larissa, the flood zone of Pinios in Larissa has been evacuated, which does not include residences but some factories and sheep farms.
