Athens Law School: The 28 accused of misdemeanours were released after the occupation of the University

The prosecution of the 28 people arrested from the occupation of the Athens Law School has been initiated by the Athens Prosecutor’s Office.

In particular, the arrested were prosecuted for five misdemeanours, which are the following: Disruption of a public service jointly, unprovoked damage to foreign property for public benefit jointly and repeatedly, insubordination, illegal possession of weapons, violation of the law on flares.

The accused were earlier brought to the Single Judge Magistrate’s Court, where about 50 solidarity people gathered in support of them.

However, the trial of the arrested persons was postponed to May 28.

The 28 misdemeanour defendants are free without any restrictions. The court called a police officer and the guard of the law school as witnesses.

It is recalled that the squatters had set up a business centre inside the law school, as the police officers who participated in the operation of the National Police, which was carried out in the presence of a prosecutor, found out.

Inside the cafeteria, among other things, anti-gas masks, a chain cutter, chains, sticks, helmets and spray were found, which were seized by the police officers.
