Digital School: Presented today by Mitsotakis and Pierrakakis

The Prime Minister and the Minister of Education present the new Digital School today at 10:00 in Imathia

Newsroom May 17 10:40

Today at 10:00 AM, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Education Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis, and Deputy Minister Zeta Makri are unveiling the new Digital School. The presentation, held at the daily Gymnasium with lyceum classes in Rizomata, Imathia, will highlight the Digital Tutoring, designed for the National Exams, and will introduce digital classes for remote areas, the myparents app for parents, and digital documents for schools.

E-classes are scheduled to commence in September 2024. The Digital Tutoring rollout starts today with Modern Greek and Mathematics lessons. The Digital School will feature Digital Tutoring, online lessons, and administrative documents, primarily benefiting students from remote islands. This includes digitized grades to support school information platforms. MySchool and digital administration services are being revamped as part of this initiative.

The Digital Tutoring pilot phase begins immediately, covering Modern Greek and Mathematics for Gymnasium. By September 2024, it will expand to all grades of primary and secondary education. For 3rd Lyceum students, the Digital Tutoring is expected to alleviate financial burdens associated with tutoring expenses. Specially selected educators will lead the program, initially focusing on National Exam subjects.

Daily classes for National Exam subjects will be held in the afternoon, allowing nationwide student participation. Students can interact with educators during lessons, receiving real-time answers. Access to the Digital Tutoring platform for 3rd Lyceum students will be provided via unique codes from the Ministry of Education upon registration.

In both primary and secondary education, classes will mainly be recorded on video, with real-time options available. No access code is needed for electronic platform attendance. Digital Tutoring aids understanding, offers self-assessment, and personalized chat support. MySchool’s upgrade includes digital administrative services and interoperability. eParents will inform and engage parents with school activities, academic progress monitoring, and communication tools. Minister Pierrakakis invites 88 educators to support Digital Tutoring for 3rd-grade students, enhancing teaching support through online lessons.
