New Environmental Monitoring Platform: Interactive Experience for north-east Halkidiki

The newly updated platform is part of the broader digital transformation strategy by Hellas Gold

Newsroom June 26 12:59

Environmental protection is one of the most significant challenges for industry today. Modern organizations recognize the necessity of integrating environmental management practices into their strategy by systematically investing in the best available technological solutions. These solutions ensure optimal management of natural resources while minimizing the environmental footprint of their activities.

Hellenic Gold recently introduced the new, streamlined online platform for its award-winning Environmental Monitoring Program, which has been developed and implemented in and around the Kassandra Mines facility since 1995. Currently, the program includes an extensive network of 500 control points, where 15 different environmental parameters are recorded, examined, and measured. These parameters include water, air, soil quality, as well as noise, vibration, and dust emission levels.

The new simplified platform, available at environmental.hellas-gold.com, presents the data collected by the program in a simple, direct, and visually friendly manner. This design facilitates the understanding of environmental quality in the area, with a focus on aspects directly related to the daily lives of residents. Visitors can explore a three-dimensional, interactive map, select any of the 500 measurement points, and access information on the environmental parameters. Additionally, for many parameters, tangible examples from everyday life are provided to better explain the levels of each individual measure. This approach makes the information accessible to everyone, even those unfamiliar with scientific terminology. The platform also offers access to historical data, allowing visitors to compare current values with records.
