Olympic Games 2024: New Zealand’s Women’s Rugby Team Wins Gold and Celebrates with Haka – Watch the Video

The absolute favorite celebrated in their unique style

Newsroom July 31 12:09

Opportunities to see New Zealanders perform a haka are quite frequent. Opportunities to see New Zealand women perform a haka are rare.

Fortunately, the country’s women’s rugby team has added another gold medal to their collection, this time at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The world champions (from the 2021 World Cup, the last one held) and currently ranked number 2 in the world behind England, struggled in the first half against Canada (trailing 12-7). However, they came back in the second half to restore order, keeping their opponents scoreless (final score 19-12).
