The Termini Imerese Prosecutor's Office is investigating the capsizing of the luxury yacht Bayesian near the Porticello harbor shortly before 5 AM on Monday

Newsroom August 23 12:25

Italian authorities have launched an investigation for negligent homicide in connection with the tragic shipwreck in Palermo that claimed the lives of at least six people.

According to the Daily Mail, the Termini Imerese Prosecutor’s Office, led by Ambrogio Cartosio, is investigating why the luxury yacht capsized near the Porticello harbor shortly before 5 AM on Monday.

The investigators are examining the offenses of “causing a shipwreck and multiple negligent homicides” against “unknown persons,” according to Italian media.
