How many Airbnb accommodations do the 7 top geographical areas in Greece have?

Hosthub has recorded the seven geographical areas of the country with the most short-term rental accommodation

Newsroom August 26 10:32

Koukaki, Monastiraki, Thiseio and Pagrati are the areas with the most short-term rental accommodation in Athens, while Crete is the geographical area of the country that has the most Airbnb in Greece, reaching close to 33,000. Especially in Athens, which is experiencing its best tourist year this year, the corresponding number reaches 17,000, while in the second largest urban center of the country, Thessaloniki, there are close to 5,000 accommodations, mainly in the city center and the coastal areas.

The number of the city center is approximately 5,000. The above figures come from data from AirDNA, the international analytics platform for short-term rentals, after being processed by Hosthub, the well-known, “smart” short-term rental platform that helps landlords-hosts to be able to offer their properties to multiple channels and international platforms simultaneously, as well as manage bookings and availability without complicated procedures.

Hosthub has mapped the seven geographical regions of the country with the most short-term rental properties in Greece, including, in addition to Athens, Thessaloniki and Crete, the Cyclades, Dodecanese, Peloponnese and Ionian Islands. Based on the processing of the data, the Cyclades have around 27,000 accommodation units this year, with the most popular destinations of Mykonos and Santorini, understandably, gathering the largest share, despite the fact that Mykonos in particular has recorded a 5% decrease in international traffic this year, based on official airport data for the seven months (Santorini is exactly at the same level as last year with the same number of international passengers at 796 thousand and an increase in total traffic by 3.9%, over 1.54 million in the seven months due to the increase in domestic traffic).
