There is an alert for the Hellenic Police and Fire Brigade after being informed about a man in a state of frenzy who has gone out onto a balcony of a building on Acharnae Street.

According to reports, the man is carrying knives and a gas cylinder.

The man is also allegedly threatening to blow up the entire block.

Initially, the man, who is of Syrian origin, was threatening to jump.

Members of the EKAM (Special Counter-Terrorism Unit) are rushing to the area.

Due to the authorities’ operation, traffic police have blocked off Acharnae Street from Marnis to Stournari.
