Debate Harris – Trump: Conspiracy Theories Surge – What They Say About Kamala’s Pearl Earrings

Social media frenzy – Some claim they are earrings from Tiffany's, others believe they are secret earpieces

Newsroom September 12 09:07

Conspiracy theories are running wild among supporters of former U.S. President Donald Trump following the debate, with some questioning whether Democratic vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris was wearing earrings or secret earpieces.

As reported by Newsweek and Bild, rumors are swirling that during Harris’s debate with Trump, she allegedly used a secret earpiece. The German newspaper also suggests that the earpiece might be “made in Germany.”

Harris, who has previously mentioned that Bluetooth devices are a “security risk,” was accused of wearing earrings that resembled pearls but were earpieces designed to assist her during the 90-minute showdown with her Republican opponent.

Critics, without providing evidence, claimed that Harris’s gold earrings—previously worn and reportedly from Tiffany’s—were a pair of “smart” audio earrings, allegedly created by the German startup NOVA.

The only similarity between the earrings and the earpieces is that both feature a pearl. A social media account on X, called “The Maverick Approach,” which claims to be an “alternative news source,” fervently supported the conspiracy theory about Harris’s earpiece earrings. “There is a major issue with this debate,” the account posted.

“I said they were telling her what to say during the debate, and my hunch was right. The Nova are the world’s first and only wireless audio earrings.”

“Nothing is as it seems,” declared many online followers, spreading the conspiracy theory by sharing a photo of Harris from the debate, clearly showing her “earpiece earrings.”

A Kickstarter page promoting the technology explains that the NOVA H1 Audio earrings claimed to be the first audio earrings, rest on the earlobes and can “project sound from inside the pearl directly into the ear canal.”

“Two high-quality, tiny microphones are embedded in each earring, providing crystal-clear phone calls and wind noise cancellation,” the advertisement states. “These earrings are fully equipped with the latest technology, embedded in real pearls to give you music, phone calls, and digital assistants throughout the day.”

The NOVA H1 earrings are priced at approximately $625 and are only available in gold.

Meanwhile, Harris supporters reject the notion of secret earpieces, proudly asserting that the earrings are Tiffany’s jewelry, valued at around $2,000.

According to U.S. media outlets, the earrings are indeed from Tiffany & Co. And if Harris truly wanted someone whispering in her ear, there are plenty of devices on the market that are completely invisible, notes the American press and reported by Bild.
