Thessaloniki: The 64-year-old man who filmed an 18-year-old girl in the train was convicted – He zoomed on her chest and face

Newsroom September 19 05:22

The Six Months total sentence of imprisonment was imposed by the Single-Member Plenary Court of Thessaloniki on the 64-year-old passenger of a train who was reported that he  videotaped with his mobile phone a 18-year-old fellow passenger.

The man was found guilty of breaching personal data and the court decided to suspend his sentence for three years.

According to the complaint, the incident occurred during the Athens – Thessaloniki route. The 64-year-old man, a Pakistani national, was filming the 18-year-old (domestic) girl with his mobile phone, while the girl was informed by another passenger of the train who noticed the video recording.

The girl approached the train controller, who asked to check the 64-year-old’s mobile phone. According to the case file, about eight videos, taken by the defendant, were eventually found, which focused on the 18-year-old’s chest and face. The 64-year-old appears to have transferred them to the “trash bin” of his cell phone, apparently when he realised he was being noticed.

In his plea, the defendant claimed he was taking video of the route and scenery, not the complainant.
