Ten PAMAK scientists in the 2% of the world’s most distinguished scientists

The criterion for the inclusion of scientists in the annual ranking is the impact of their work

Nine members of the faculty of the University of Macedonia and one PhD student are ranked in the top 2% of the scientific field in which they are active in the annual rankings announced by the scientific publishing house Elsevier and Stanford University, USA.

The criterion for the inclusion of scientists in this ranking is the impact of their work and objective criteria such as the number of citations or the impact factor.

In particular, the table, based on data from Scopus, the largest database of abstracts and citations of peer-reviewed scientific publications, has two rankings. The first is for the entire scientific work and career of scientists, while the second counts only citations received in the last reporting year, 2023, as they stood on 1 August 2024.

The faculty members of the University of Macedonia who were distinguished for their overall scientific work are Professor of the Department of Economics Anastasios Economidis, Professor of the Department of Applied Informatics Dimitrios Christou – Varsakelis, Professor of the Department of Business Administration and Management Constantine Tarabanis and Professor of the Department of Applied Informatics Constantine Psannis.

Accordingly, based on the reports for the year 2023, the distinguished scientists are the assistant professor of the Department of Business Administration and Management Dimitrios Kafetzopoulos, the professor of the Department of Business Administration and Management Rodoula Tsiotsou, the professor of the Department of Applied Informatics Fotios Kitsios, Professor of the Department of Business Administration and Management Anastasia Katou, Professor of the Department of Economics Anastasios Economidis, Assistant Professor of the Department of Applied Informatics Eutyhios Protopapadakis, Professor of the Department of Applied Informatics Konstantinos Psannis and PhD Christos Stergios.
