SYRIZA: Immediate and final decision regarding Kasselakis

What SYRIZA states in its announcement following the video posted by the party's former president

Newsroom October 14 12:16

SYRIZA has issued a statement declaring the Central Committee’s decision, which stipulates that Stefanos Kasselakis cannot run for the party’s presidency, as “immediately enforceable and irrevocable.”

Specifically, in response to the video published by the former president, SYRIZA states:

“The decision of the Central Committee on Saturday, 12/10/2024, was made by an overwhelming majority. The body convened with a confirmed quorum, despite unconstitutional and unacceptable actions, which ultimately proved unsuccessful. This decision regarding Mr. Kasselakis is immediately enforceable and irrevocable.”

It should be noted that in the video posted on Facebook earlier this morning, Stefanos Kasselakis described the decision to exclude him from being a presidential candidate as “unprecedented and shocking.”

He also reiterated his intention to fight at the party’s Congress. In this context, he urged “leftist and progressive citizens who are not yet SYRIZA members to register immediately, by October 24.”
