SYRIZA – They all declare victory: We have a clear victory, say the “87” – Overwhelming victory with 69%, claims the Kasselakis side

See results from the counting of the votes for the delegates to the Members' Organizations - Complaints of "bashing and verbal attacks by members affiliated to Kasselakis - The former president's side speaks of a blockade on the votes of Greeks abroad

Newsroom November 3 08:36

The process of electing delegates to SYRIZA is now at its peak, as counting is underway at the polling stations of the Member Organisations, which number 550. On the first day of the process, both the majority and the Kasselakis side are declared winners.

According to majority sources, there is a “clear predominance in the first results from the election of delegates for the SYRIZA-PS conference”.

“The enthusiasm in the staff of Stefanos Kasselakis is evident, as the first results show an overwhelming victory with percentages reaching 69%,” sources from the former president’s staff say, on the other hand. “This comfortable victory suggests that the staff’s expectations are being confirmed as the electoral processes are progressing and entire prefectures are now beginning to be integrated,” they add.

The mood is more than polemical, as one after another complaints about the electoral process are hurled, both from the side of the former chairman, Stefanos Kasselakis, and from the majority side.

Specifically, the majority of SYRIZA PS denounces bashing and verbal attacks in the last hours by members affiliated with Stefanos Kasselakis in the member organizations in Salamina, Kozani, Haidari, and Koropi. Reportedly, in the case of Salamina and Kozani, the police intervened, while in Haidari and Koropi an attempt was made to drop more than one ballot paper at the ballot box.

On the opposite side, a complaint about the votes of Greeks abroad was made by the Kasselakis side, stating that those who did not receive a special link (link) to vote from abroad were referred to the e-mail: [email protected]. However, when they attempted to contact them electronically, the interested parties and members of SYRIZA received a response that presented the e-mail address they had been referred to as non-existent.

However, according to sources at Koumoundourou, the procedure for the OMs Abroad (Members’ Organizations) is done electronically and will be completed at 23:59.
