Strike in metro, rail, and buses: Public transport schedule for Wednesday (20/11) and taxi services update

The country faces a standstill due to the general strike called by GSEE (General Confederation of Greek Workers) and ADEDY (Civil Servants’ Confederation). Work stoppages will impact most public transportation, with a 24-hour strike in Proastiakos (Suburban Railway). Below are the details of the schedule changes:

Metro, Suburban Railway, and ISAP (Electric Railway)

  • Line 1 (ISAP) will open to passengers at 9:00 a.m. The last train schedules are as follows:
    • From Kifissia: 10:35 p.m.
    • From Piraeus: 8:35 p.m.
    • Detailed last departures are provided for stations like Monastiraki, Omonia, and Attica.
  • Lines 2 and 3 (Metro): Operations start at 9:00 a.m., with final departures at:
    • From Syntagma (all directions): 5:10 p.m.
    • Stops such as Anthoupoli and Elliniko also have adjusted schedules.
  • Metro Airport Routes:
    • First trains: 9:06 a.m. from Dimotiko Theatro and 9:10 a.m. from the Airport.
    • Last trains: 4:18 p.m. and 4:22 p.m. respectively.

Tram

  • Line 7 (Asklipieio Voulas – Agia Triada): First train 9:07 a.m., last train 6:55 p.m.
  • Line 6 (Syntagma – Pikrodafni) has similarly adjusted schedules.
  • Tram connections between Lines 6 and 7 maintain synchronized departures.

Buses and Trolleybuses

In Athens, bus and trolley services will only operate from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with stoppages outside these hours.

In Thessaloniki, OASTH employees announced a full-day strike, except for essential services, such as the nighttime airport line (N1) and services for passengers with disabilities.

Taxis

Taxi drivers, represented by SATA, will not strike. However, they are urged to attend a protest rally at 9:30 a.m., followed by a march to the Ministry of Finance.
