Lebanon: At least 12 dead and eight injured in Israeli raids on Tyre

The strikes targeted the Tyre region – At least eight people were injured

Newsroom November 25 04:50

Twelve people were killed, and eight others were injured in Israeli airstrikes on two areas of Tyre in southern Lebanon today, Monday (25/11), according to Lebanon’s Ministry of Health.

In separate statements, the ministry reported “six fatalities” and “bodies of unidentified individuals,” as well as four injured in a strike on a road near the city of Tyre.

Another raid in the Maaraka area resulted in “six fatalities and four injuries,” one of whom is being treated in an Intensive Care Unit.

Airstrike on a Hezbollah Administrative Center

Meanwhile, the Israeli military announced today, Monday (25/11), that it targeted a “Hezbollah administrative center” in a strike carried out on Saturday (23/11) in central Beirut. According to Lebanese authorities, this attack killed at least 29 people.

“The Israeli military struck a Hezbollah administrative center,” the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said in response to a query from AFP, as conflicting statements from Lebanon suggested that the strike aimed at a senior Hezbollah official.

“Yes” in Principle to Ceasefire Agreement

Earlier, it was reported that Benjamin Netanyahu had given his approval in principle to a ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah supported by the United States, according to CNN. However, Israel remains cautious about the details of the agreement, which are expected to be communicated to Lebanon’s government today.

In recent days, Hezbollah has been considering the US-backed proposal for a 60-day cessation of hostilities, which officials suggest could form the basis for a permanent ceasefire.
