Michael Rigas: Greek-origin deputy secretary of state nominated by Donald Trump

Greek-origin Michael Rigas has been nominated for deputy secretary of state by US president-elect Donald Trump.

“Michael will take responsibility in the State Department, as he did throughout the government when he served in my first term as deputy and acting director of the Office of Personnel Management and as acting deputy director for management at the Office of Management and Budget,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social website.

According to his LinkedIn bio, Michael Rigas is an executive with more than two decades of experience leading organizations through change in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, including banks and government.

With experience as chief executive officer, COO, and CMO, the nominee for Deputy Secretary of State served as CEO of an organization that managed human resources, talent acquisition, development, and policy for 2.1 million employees of the federal government. He also served concurrently as CEO of the federal government.

He was also a C-Suite executive, consistently achieving outstanding results and reducing agency costs. He has an academic background in economics, international trade, leadership, and multilateral negotiations as well as conflict resolution.

Note that Michael Rigas was close to Donald Trump, he had a leadership role at the America First Policy Institute with the purpose of promoting a conservative agenda for Donald Trump’s incoming presidential administration by proposing sweeping reforms to the structure and policies of the federal government.
