Opinion Poll: 30.8% for ND, widening the gap from PASOK, SYRIZA fifth, eight-party Parliament

One in two consider Trump "person of the year", eight out of ten consider political stability in the country important - 54% fear a war in 2025 - Three out of four in favour of seeking the greatest possible consensus in the presidential election

Newsroom January 13 07:42

A recent opinion poll presented on the main Action 24 bulletin shows a rise in ND’s ratings and Prime Minister Mitsotakis’ continued dominance in the question about the country’s leadership. In the latest vote estimate, Mitsotakis gains 0.6 points compared to the previous measurement, while PASOK drops by more than one point, settling at 17.4%.

By one point less than one percent and by 17%.

Nikos Androulakis is also showing a decline, as he appears to be losing the polling momentum he gained from his re-election as PASOK leader last autumn. On the contrary, SYRIZA registers a partial regrouping and gains one point – although it remains the 5th party, behind ND, PASOK, KKE and Hellenic Solution, it seems to win the “civil war” with Stefanos Kasselakis, whose party remains in 8th place, with a loss of almost one point, but within the Parliament, with 4.2%, behind the strengthened “Voice of Reason” and Eleftherias. Outside the House, the Opinion Poll shows Niki, which “writes” a 2.9% in the vote estimate – and thus the count results in an eight-party House, since the Spartans also register very low percentages.

However, people want the broadest possible consensus on the presidential election – and only 14% are asking the government to face the opposition without their consent. At the same time – and given the uncertainty that dominates the international scene – 80% of citizens say they consider political stability in our country important.

It should be noted that 75% of voters in the New Democracy party are in favour of consensus in the presidential election – and only 18.2% want a party candidacy “regardless of the opposition’s position”, according to the wording of the question from the company.

Hopes and concerns

For the first time in years, Greeks welcomed the new year by giving first place to a positive emotion – hope and third place to optimism, while insecurity and pessimism came in second and fourth place, respectively. However, the majority of citizens consider the level of wages and pensions as the most important problem of the country, and the second most important problem is the price and cost of energy. And when asked what they would like to see change in the state in 2025, 31.4% answered “the economy”. At the same time, 57% say they are pessimistic about the country’s future, while 54% say they fear a war within the year.

Trump person of the year

49.4% spontaneously state that they consider Donald Trump to be the “person of the year”, followed by 12.7% citing Kyriakos Mitsotakis. These are followed with very low percentages by references to Vladimir Putin, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, Nikos Androulakis, Stefanos Kasselakis and Aphrodite Latinoopoulou.
