Nikolaos de Grece – Chrysi Vardinoyannis: Two breakups and a “golden” wedding

The couple is preparing to formalize their relationship on February 7

Newsroom January 24 08:38

On February 7, Nikolaos de Grece and Chryssi Vardinoyannis will tie the knot, according to information published by protothema.gr. The couple has chosen to take this significant step in their personal lives after a discreet journey, maintaining close ties with their families. The wedding will reportedly take place at Agia Marina in Ekali.

Their first public appearance as a couple occurred on January 16 at Tatoi, during a memorial service marking two years since the passing of former King Constantine. The ceremony, though conducted in a private family circle, drew attention due to the presence of Chryssi Vardinoyannis, who accompanied Nikolaos de Grez.

Chryssi Vardinoyannis, the daughter of shipping magnate Giorgos Vardinoyannis and Agapi Politi, has maintained strong ties with the former royal family for years. Her presence at the wedding of Nikolaos’ sister, Theodora, in September 2024, confirmed the close relationship that has developed between the two families. However, Chryssi Vardinoyannis is known for her low-key approach to personal matters and her role as a mother and active member of the Vardinoyannis family, which has made a significant mark in the business world.

The Personal Story Behind the Couple
Chryssi Vardinoyannis concluded a major chapter in her personal life at the end of 2023 when she parted ways with Konstantinos Markoulakis after five years together. Despite deciding to go their separate ways, mutual respect and admiration remained intact. Notably, even after their breakup, Chryssi attended the premiere of the play directed by her former partner, showing her support for his work.

On his part, Nikolaos de Grez, the middle son of the late King Constantine, ended his marriage to Tatiana Blatnik after 14 years together. Their relationship, which began in 2003, was characterized by romance and a cosmopolitan flair, with their wedding on Spetses becoming an international social event. However, differences that emerged in recent years led to their divorce, officially announced in April 2024 in a joint statement emphasizing their mutual respect and ongoing friendship.

A “Golden” Wedding That Draws Great Interest
The upcoming wedding of Nikolaos de Grez and Chryssi Vardinoyannis has already captured attention for many reasons, primarily due to the social and historical significance of their families. Nikolaos, as a member of Greece’s former royal family, carries a strong historical and cultural legacy, with his family playing a significant role in Greek history.

On the other hand, Chryssi Vardinoyannis comes from one of Greece’s most powerful and influential business families, known for their longstanding presence in media and philanthropy.
