The first reaction of government officials to PASOK’s request for the establishment of a preliminary investigation committee of the Parliament which will examine any criminal responsibility of the – then – Deputy Minister to Prime Minister Christos Triantopoulos regarding “the alteration of the site of the tragedy” of Tempe: “We will take a position after we have read the petition accurately,” government officials said after the opposition’s announcement.

PASOK said in its statement: After studying the case file and in particular the detailed conclusion of the Prosecutor of the Larissa Court of Appeal of 15.7.2024, PASOK with institutional consistency submits a proposal for the establishment of a special parliamentary committee to conduct a preliminary examination to investigate any criminal responsibilities of the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister Christos Triandopoulos during the time in question, by Article 86 paragraph 3 of the Constitution and Articles 153 et seq. of the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament regarding the alteration of the site of the Tempi tragedy, which took place from 3/3/2023 onwards.
