Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday that the cease-fire in Gaza will end if Hamas does not return hostages held in the enclave by noon Saturday, amid widespread concerns that the Middle East war will flare up.

“The army will return to fierce fighting until Hamas is finally defeated,” he said in a videotaped statement.
