Marinakis on the videos: The cover-up is solemnly destroyed, Justice will answer why the explosion took place

No one will play judge and investigator, Justice will evaluate, said the government spokesman - What he said about the threats against the President of the Supreme Court

Newsroom February 13 06:42

Justice will evaluate, government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis said in the expert report regarding the commercial train videos.

Speaking on Mega on Thursday, Marinakis noted that “the forensic experts say that the videos refer to the commercial and certify that it carried nothing other than what was declared and there was no illegal cargo.”

He added that “the certification of the videos of their authenticity by the relevant agencies is also awaited.”

“No one will play the judge and investigator, the judiciary will evaluate,” he said afterward, adding: “If the experts had said the opposite, imagine what would happen in this country; can you imagine how many Androulakis would come out and call the prime minister the orchestrator of the cover-up?”

“Why the explosion happened will be answered by the justice system,” he added, “We say there was no fraudulent cover-up. It is one thing to say that a priori an illegal cargo was being transported and the government was covering up for the carrier. This is conclusively refuted by the cover-up.”

In addition, regarding the telephone threats received by the President of the Supreme Court Ioanna Klapa and the prosecutor of the Supreme Criminal Court Georgia Adilini, Marinakis said that “it is not normal things that the political debate is so toxicized and the accident is instrumentalized. We all expect answers and every week we get an answer. Not any of us should become a judge.”

He added that “targeting the judiciary is something we will face, to put up a firewall for the judiciary. They belong to no party, no government, no opposition. We did not have this discussion even in the dark years when Greece was on the brink of collapse, for God’s sake.”
