Tsipras : “The country and people haven’t yet paid the price of popular protests”

The political confrontation between former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and the Maximos Mansion continues, following comments made by government sources about his article in Efimerida ton Sintakton

Newsroom February 26 07:53

These sources had pointed out that it was hypocritical for Tsipras to speak about truth and justice, considering that during his tenure, a “sub-ministry of justice” was in operation.

In response, Tsipras’ associates stated: “The advice from the ‘government sources’ is being returned to the sender, who, once again in the cabinet, chose defamation and scaremongering instead of an apology.” These sources further emphasized: “It seems he forgets that, first and foremost, he is accountable to the families of the 57 victims. It is their struggle for justice and accountability that inspires society and mobilizes the citizens, and he should stop defaming it by labeling it as ‘division’ and ‘unconstitutional.’

They also pointed out: “Moreover, neither the country nor the people have ‘paid dearly’ for the large popular movements. If we are paying anything, it is that this demand for justice and democracy will remain unfulfilled as long as the country’s fate is managed by a political establishment that, after bankrupting us once economically, is now bankrupting us morally, cheapening every notion of justice.”
