Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the AADE – The data for this year’s tax returns

Until the day before yesterday, April 7, 1.071.441 declarations of natural persons, and 21.637 declarations of legal persons had been submitted, when on the corresponding day of 2024, 411.865 declarations of natural persons had been submitted

Newsroom April 9 11:48

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is visiting the headquarters of the Independent Public Revenue Authority today.

The visit comes on the occasion of the tax return submission process in which a comprehensive and strict framework has been put in place for the first time and for the first time fines are imposed on public bodies that do not transmit the necessary data for cross-checking and supplementing income tax returns in time.

As explained by relevant sources, the implementation of fixed dates for filing returns offers significant benefits for citizens, professionals in the industry as well as accountants, as it facilitates planning and organisation.

It is recalled that now taxpayers know exactly the start and end dates for filing tax returns, a process that starts on March 15 and ends on July 30 for legal entities and from March 15 to July 15 for individuals.

This year’s tax returns are accompanied by targeted interventions for a fairer and more citizen-friendly tax environment, including:

– Expansion of the number of pre-cleared returns: for the tax year 2024, more than 1.3 million returns, involving over 1.5 million taxpayers, are pre-completed and pre-cleared by AADE. This represents an increase of about 100,000 returns compared to the previous year.
– Incentives for early submission with a graduated tax rebate of 2 to 4% in case of a one-off payment.
– Commitment of all liable entities to send data to the AADE on time with provision for penalties.

According to the data as of yesterday, April 7, the following have been submitted:
