A total of 28 arrests were made by the National Police on Wednesday during a major police operation for members of a nationalist organization in Thessaloniki.

According to reports, 15 adults and 13 minors have been arrested who are allegedly members of the Thessaloniki Nationalist Youth. Still, a minor who has been identified is abroad and is wanted. Among those arrested is the leader of the organization.

The accused are allegedly involved in cases of theft, beatings with racist characteristics, incitement to acts of violence and other acts, and – for now – have been identified as being involved in cases from 2024 and 2025.

According to the same information, some of them were involved in the clash that occurred during the march for Tempi on February 28, 2025, when people with Greek flags clashed with anarchists outside the New Railway Station of Thessaloniki.

Also, among other things, they were involved in cases of writers of nationalist – racist slogans in schools in Thessaloniki. The activity of the organization seems to have started in 2019, stopped during the coronavirus period, and in 2024 they came back.

According to reports, the 28 arrests were made by the State Security this morning at the homes of the accused. Two of them, as shown in the video of protothema.gr, were made in the area of Evangelistria.

Apart from the identification and arrests of the individuals, searches were conducted on the premises and homes of the accused.
