This is the image of the canteen of the Law School of Athens – See video and photos

The specific area, which was under occupation, was evacuated yesterday morning by the Police and handed over to the University of Athens

Newsroom May 14 07:27

Scenes of absolute destruction that are in no way consistent with a University Institution of a European country are recorded from the so-called “self-managed canteen of the Law School“, which, along with another area of the University of Athens under occupation, was evacuated yesterday morning by the Police.

Police officers from the Sub-Division for Combating Racist and Extremist Violence, in the presence of a representative of the judicial authority, went to the premises of the Law School as part of a parallel operation to identify the perpetrators of the attack where the post-doctoral student was seriously injured two weeks ago.

During the operation, the police officers found items that had been used in the attack, such as fire extinguishers, gloves, binders, etc.

The police proceeded to evacuate the premises, which were handed over to the school administration.

It should be noted that the police had previously proceeded to evacuate these premises a year ago, while they had been under occupation since 2012. According to information, the re-occupation of the premises was after the administration of the University of Athens, gave the cafeteria of the Law School to groups not related to the university.

In the police operation that took place in May 2024, 28 people were arrested, who participated in the occupation of the space and, among other things, expressed support for terrorist groups. These were people who had no connection with the University. In fact, during the occupation, these individuals held assemblies and parties, which were turned into abavas for students, while the participants caused damage to the premises.
