Stefanos, 30 years old, was set to get married in just 20 days, but on Sunday afternoon he lost his life in a tragic way, drowning at Kathisma Beach in Lefkada.

A cruel irony? The young man from Trikala was on the island to celebrate his bachelor party with friends.

According to reports, the unfortunate man drowned after being swept away by huge waves while swimming during bad weather at Kathisma Beach.

His family is devastated, unable to believe how their joy was turned into tragedy.

Stefanos was the son of a well-known family from Trikala. His father, Stefanos Kemos, is a businessman who, together with the 30-year-old’s uncle, runs a car dealership in the city.

According to his friends who were present at the tragic incident, they watched in horror as the waves washed his unconscious body ashore.

The Coast Guard and paramedics from the EKAV emergency service, with assistance from the Fire Department, managed to transport Stefanos to an ambulance and from there to the hospital in Lefkada, where his death was confirmed.
