“I felt like a monkey in a circus and a prostitute” – Strong complaints from Miss England about the organisers of the Miss World pageant in India

The straw that broke the camel's back was when she was asked to entertain middle-aged businessmen as a "thank you" for the money they had given for the event

The 24-year-old Miss England, Mila Magyi, announced her decision to withdraw from the Miss World competition, which this year will be held in India. She launched severe accusations against the organizers, claiming, among other things, that their behavior made her feel like a “circus monkey” and a “prostitute.”

The 24-year-old, who became the first Miss England to withdraw from the competition in its 74-year history, described that the last straw was when she was asked to entertain middle-aged businessmen as a “thank you” for the money they had contributed to the event’s organization.

“We were asked to sit with them all afternoon and entertain them. It was unbelievable. I remember thinking, ‘This is completely wrong.’ I didn’t come to India to entertain some men,” the 24-year-old told The Sun.

“The Miss World pageant is supposed to have some values. They made me feel like a prostitute,” she added angrily.

As she described, “At some point, I tried to talk about the values I stand for, but it was clear these men didn’t care. Instead, there were discussions that made me feel uncomfortable. They had us there to thank them and sit like monkeys in a circus. And I can’t tolerate that.”

According to her, the organizers even went as far as to reprimand them for being “boring,” with one official reportedly clapping her hands in front of her face “pretending to wake me up and get our attention. It was a disrespectful gesture as if addressing children and not adult women.”

The 24-year-old Englishwoman also claimed that at the same event on May 7th, they were forced to wear dresses all day long, even at breakfast.
