Incredible adventure for a paraglider: Wind dragged him and he nearly froze at 8,000 meters altitude – See the video

Above the clouds where he was, the temperature can reach as low as -40 degrees Celsius

Newsroom May 28 07:29

A nearly deadly adventure was experienced by a paraglider in China when strong winds dragged him, resulting in him reaching an altitude of 8,000 meters above ground in an environment with sub-zero temperatures and dangerously low oxygen levels.

In a video circulating on social media, paraglider Liu Ge appears to have lost control of his wing just minutes after takeoff from an altitude of 3,000 meters in the Qilian Mountains in China.

Due to the winds, the Chinese parachutist found himself above the clouds, trying to control his wing while being covered in ice.

According to him, at the altitude he reached, temperatures can plunge to as low as -40°C, and oxygen levels can fall to dangerous levels.

Fortunately, he managed to remain conscious throughout and was able to land safely a few minutes later. However, his dangerous flight caused frostbite and required hospitalization.

After the video was released, Chinese authorities launched an investigation into Liu Ge’s flight, as initial reports indicate he did not have official permission for the flight.
