In Rome and Florence, temperatures are forecast to soar to 38°C, while Naples and Milan are expected to see highs of 37°C. On the island of Sardinia and in the metropolitan area of Bari, the mercury may exceed 40°C.

Authorities emphasize that the combination of intense heat and high humidity poses significant health risks, not only to the elderly and those with pre-existing medical conditions, but also to otherwise healthy individuals.

The Ministry of Health is urging the public to avoid travel and outdoor physical activity between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., when heat stress is expected to be most severe. Citizens are also advised to adopt a lighter diet, prioritizing fish, pasta, fresh vegetables, and fruit to help the body cope with elevated temperatures.
