According to the same sources, Ms Makri was recently under intense pressure from a well-known journalist in Volos, who allegedly asked her for the sum of 10,000 euros in order to stop publishing negative comments and texts against her in the medium she manages.

The MP reported the incident to Volos Security, resulting in an operation in which the journalist was arrested for possessing marked banknotes that Zetta Makri had handed him at a meeting held at 11am on Friday morning at a cafe in Volos port.

The journalist is currently being held at Volos Security and is expected to go through the auto-custody procedure, while the MP has been asked to give a supplementary statement in order to clarify all the details that led to the complaint and the arrest.
