Bus collided with a car on Syngrou Avenue – At least six injured

Traffic restrictions at the site due to the serious accident

Newsroom July 30 05:55

A serious traffic accident occurred today (July 30) at the intersection of Syngrou Avenue and Kallirrois Street, when a city bus collided with a car under circumstances that remain unclear.

At least six people were injured in the crash, according to initial reports, though none of the injuries appear to be serious. Among the injured is a minor.

Emergency services (EKAV) responded swiftly, arriving at the scene within six minutes with four ambulances and two rapid-response motorcycles.

Rescuers provided first aid to ten bus passengers, and as a precaution, five were taken in stable condition to Evangelismos Hospital, while a child was transported to Agia Sofia Children’s Hospital.

The accident has caused significant traffic congestion on Syngrou Avenue heading toward central Athens, starting from the area around Kallirrois Street.

An eyewitness at the scene reported: “I heard the ambulance siren and came down to see what happened. Five people were injured inside the bus, they came out and were taken to the hospital.”
