“Now together again”: Lambros Konstantaras’ post about his father and grandfather – Friends and colleagues bid farewell

The journalist wanted to publicly share a family memory

Newsroom August 24 06:33

With a long career in journalism, literature, and television, Dimitris Konstantaras was a personality who left a strong mark in the fields of information and entertainment.

The journalist and writer passed away at the age of 79, bringing sorrow to the world of media and the arts. His death marks the end of a creative journey defined by integrity, kindness, and dedication to his work.

With a simple post, his son, journalist Lambros Konstantaras, bid farewell to his father, sharing a deeply personal family memory. He published a photo showing his father together with his grandfather, the legendary actor Lambros Konstantaras, writing: “Now together again.”

It should be noted that Dimitris Konstantaras passed away on Sunday, August 24, at the age of 79, after facing health problems in recent years.

Lambros also shared on social media that he had spoken to his father for the last time the day before:

“I can’t believe, dad, that yesterday was the last time we spoke on the phone. The last birthday photo we took was on August 6. The last hat I brought you from my travels, the one from the Moulin Rouge. I will always remember you smiling and strong, even though you suffered terribly these past two years.”

He also shared family photos with his sister Pavlina, his mother Vicky Vourlaki, and his late father, noting that his parents would have celebrated 60 years of marriage in just a few months:

“In a few months, you and mom would have reached 60 years together. Now it’s just the three of us and Stefanos, but we smile because we all lived happily together for many years. Something has been torn out of us. I won’t say more, I’ll close with this photo with your ring. Just as you took it off your father at Asklipieio in 1985, I did the same now. Thank you for everything. We love you. Pavlina, Lambros, and mom.”
