This morning, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the 8th Primary School of Nea Filadelfeia for the blessing ceremony ahead of the new school year.
This school is one of the 431 educational units that were renovated thanks to the “Marietta Giannakou” program.
Mr. Mitsotakis was guided by the school’s principal through the renovated spaces of the educational unit. “We are here to inaugurate the school. A new school with new classrooms, new restrooms, and new sports courts, all of which were carried out thanks to the Marietta Giannakou program,” stated the Prime Minister.
It is reminded that through the program, which will continue with another 2,500 schools, interior and exterior painting is upgraded, complete renovation of sanitary facilities is carried out, and W.C.s for people with disabilities are constructed where they did not exist before. Basketball and volleyball courts are built or repaired, and playgrounds in kindergartens are also constructed.
The Prime Minister, who had a patch on his neck due to a stiff neck he suffered during his appearance at the Thessaloniki International Fair, was welcomed by the Metropolitan of Nea Ionia, Filadelfeia, Irakleio and Chalkidona, Gabriel, and the President of the Hellenic Bank Association, Gikas Hardouvelis.
