On Monday afternoon (September 29), the Coast Guard carried out the rescue of 35 illegal migrants in the “Afiarti” area near Diakoftis Beach, Karpathos.

Coast Guard personnel rushed to the scene and located the migrants, who were then taken to a holding area in “Aperi.” One woman was transferred to the island’s hospital because she is pregnant.

The preliminary investigation into the incident is being handled by the Karpathos Port Authority.
