Public Transport in Attica on October 28: Timetable Changes and Traffic Rules for Parades

Public transport in Attica will operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule tomorrow, Tuesday, October 28. Due to the 28 October parades, bus, trolleybus, and tram routes will see temporary modifications, according to OASA.

Key Changes in the Centre of Athens

  • Tram services to Syntagma will terminate at the Fix stop from 10:00 until the end of the parade.
  • Updates from STASY are expected regarding whether the Syntagma Metro station will be closed during the parade.
  • Bus line 060 will be suspended from 10:00 until the parade ends, while line X95 will run only as far as Katehaki Metro station.
  • The tram stop for central Piraeus is also expected to be temporarily modified.

  • Hlioupoli: Line 237, 07:00–13:45
  • N. Heraklion: Line 642, 08:00–14:00
  • Metamorphosis: Line B9, 08:00–14:30
  • Ilion: Lines 701, 703, 719, 747, 892, A11, B11, Trolleybus 25, 09:00–13:00
  • Keratsini-Drapetsona: Line 859, 09:00–13:00
  • Korydallos: Lines 809, 810, 830, 831, 842, 806, 09:00–14:00
  • Agia Varvara: Lines 830, 837, 892, 09:00–14:00
  • Penteli-Melissia: Lines 410, 450, 451, 460, 461, 09:30–13:00
  • Filothei-Psychiko: Lines 036, 140, 402, 10:00–13:00
  • Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni: Lines 116, 117, 122, X96, 10:00–13:00
  • Acharnes: Lines 537, 721, 734, 740, 755, 755B, A10, B10, 10:00–14:00
  • Perama: Lines 841, 842, 843, 819, 818, 10:00–14:00
  • Spata-Artemis: Lines 304, 305, 319, 326, 10:00–end of events
  • Nea Ionia: Lines A8, 602, 724, 10:00–end of events
  • Agios Stefanos: Lines 509, 509B, 535, 10:30–13:30
  • Pefki: Lines 501, 527 suspended, 12:00–13:30
  • Aigaleo: Lines 750, 801, 807, 813, 829, 836, 852, 856, 865, 866, 876 during the events

Traffic Regulations

Traffic police will implement road closures across Athens and Piraeus during the parades. In all municipalities of Attica, vehicle access may be gradually restricted depending on conditions until the end of the events.

Athens

  • Vass. Amalias Avenue: full closure along its length, including perpendicular streets up to the first parallel road.
  • Panepistimiou Avenue (El. Venizelos): both directions, including perpendicular streets up to the first parallel road.
  • Syngrou Avenue: between Ath. Diakou and Dionysiou Areopagitou.
  • Ath. Diakou Street: full length, including perpendicular streets up to the first parallel road.
  • Mitropoleos Street: full closure until the end of the service at the Cathedral of Athens.

Piraeus

From 09:00–14:00, the following roads will have traffic restrictions:

  • 34th Infantry Regiment Street, between Omiridou Skylitsi and El. Venizelos
  • Heroes of Polytechnic Street, between El. Venizelos and 2nd Division
  • Bas. Georgiou Street, between Ethn. Lambraki

Drivers are urged to avoid the affected roads and follow traffic authorities’ instructions to prevent congestion.
