Paul Dano has joined the cast of A24’s upcoming drama The Chaperones, directed by India Donaldson. The acclaimed actor will star alongside rising talents Cooper Hoffman and David Jonsson, who recently appeared together in the dystopian thriller The Long Walk.

The film marks Donaldson’s second feature following her 2024 drama Good One, with a screenplay by Sebastian Black. Set just after Christmas, the story follows “three friends hired to escort a troubled teenager across the country.”

Earlier this year, Dano starred in The Wizard of the Kremlin, a political thriller by acclaimed French director Olivier Assayas, which received an enthusiastic reception at the 82nd Venice Film Festival.
