The ten key findings from Kappa Research in 2025: What Greeks say about the U.S. energy deals

On 10 surveys and attitudes towards banks, the political system, housing and the use of artificial intelligence

Newsroom December 30 01:09

The 10 most important findings from the surveys implemented in Greece for 2025 were presented by Kappa Research in a special year-end edition.

The data relate to accuracy, the housing crisis, the new working reality from the use of artificial intelligence, the digital state, the use of antibiotics, the banking system, the role of energy as a driver of development and national armouring, Greece’s relations with the US as a strategic partner, the attitude of citizens towards the political system and the improvement of living standards.

The attitude towards politics and the political system, the attitude of the government towards the political system, and the state of the political system and the political life in general.

In terms of accuracy, 82% of households appear to trace its focus to food, followed by electricity and rent. Meanwhile 59% say it is in their best interest to own a rental property with only 14% saying they intend to sell a property in the next 2 years.

At the same time, nearly 1 in 2 workers feel threatened by artificial intelligence, but 71% say digitizing everyday public and private services makes my life better.

Another survey captured the “brake” on the indiscriminate use of antibiotics with the percentage of people who keep such preparations at home for “self-medication” falling by 10% in the last two years.

However, the attitude of citizens towards banks is negative, with 94% calling for the state to force them to give lower interest rates on mortgage loans and 82% in favour of special taxation of banking institutions.

Highly positive attitudes towards the deals with Chevron and Exxon Mobil, with more than 6 in 10 saying that the deals for mining in the Ionian Sea and Crete are definitely and probably positive.

In terms of strategic alliances, citizens name the US as their first choice, followed by France and Russia, with the gap over the past year widening in favour of Washington.
