Iran is escalating its rhetoric against Donald Trump amid ongoing protests and the possibility of U.S. intervention in support of demonstrators.
According to AFP, Iranian state television broadcast a threatening message stating that “this time it will not miss the target.”
This was a clear reference to the assassination attempt in July 2024, when a bullet hit Trump’s ear during a pre-election speech. The message was accompanied by a photograph from that rally.
This is to date the most direct threat from Tehran against Trump, following his repeated warnings that the United States would attack Iran if it continues the violent crackdown on anti-government protesters.
