Plakias on Karystianou: There isn’t just one “mother of Tempi,” there are many – No relatives will follow her into her party

He noted that Maria Karystianou’s politicization “does harm” – The millions of citizens who took to the streets after the tragedy were not politically aligned

Nikos Plakias expressed the belief that no relative of a Tempi victim will follow Maria Karystianou into the party she is expected to form.

He emphasized on Action24 that even members of the Association of Relatives of the Tempi victims are not expected to follow her.

Plakias also said that the millions of citizens who took to the streets after the Tempi tragedy “did not have a party affiliation.”

He added that Karystianou’s politicization “does harm because it misleads public opinion.”

“She has the right to engage in politics. For me, the mistake is the timing. It is not acceptable to politicize the Tempi tragedy one month before the third anniversary and two months before the major trial in Larissa,” Plakias said.

“What will my family gain from Ms. Karystianou’s politicization?” he asked, noting that this move does harm because it misleads public opinion. “There isn’t just one ‘mother of Tempi,’ there are many, and there are also many fathers of Tempi victims,” Plakias added.
