Thousands of users report issues with X and say they cannot access the platform

Problems with the operation of X (formerly Twitter) were recorded on the afternoon of Friday, January 16, with thousands of users unable to access the platform.

According to reports from more than 77,000 users on Downdetector, they are experiencing issues accessing the platform, loading content, and sending messages. The reports are coming from countries such as Greece, Cyprus, the United Kingdom, the United States, Colombia, Mexico, Malaysia, Turkey, and many others, while so far there has been no announcement from the company.

The majority of issues (56%) were reported on the X app, while 33% involved problems accessing the platform’s website, and another 10% involved server connectivity issues.

The X homepage is displaying an error, while Cloudflare services, which host the website, are operating normally.

This is the second major outage in just a few days, as on Tuesday, January 13, more than 25,500 users reported problems accessing the website. The cause of today’s outage has not yet been disclosed.
