A dramatic rescue of three men, aged 22, who fell into the icy waters of a tidewater in Jamaica Bay, New York, occurred on Friday (6/2).
More specifically, the New York City Fire Department said it all happened when authorities received a call about people falling into freezing water in the Bayswater neighborhood.

Two of them were taken to Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital in Oceanside, while the third was transported to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway. So far, all three are in stable condition.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani also commented on the incident in a post on X, in which he praised the work of the police and fire departments for the rescue.
“Last week, three people fell through the ice in Jamaica Bay. Thanks to the incredible work of the NYPD and FDNY, they were rescued and transported to safety. It’s been a tough winter, but our first responders are even stronger.”
