Earlier today, Tsipras met with young people in a Larissa café, listening to their concerns and discussing current affairs.
In a post, he wrote:
“And yet, they persist. This optimistic conclusion comes from conversations with dozens of young people in Larissa. They are surrounded by low wages, high living costs, and unaffordable rents. They shared their worries about the future and how difficult it is to achieve their dreams in a regional city. Yet, they persist—they have no intention of settling for today or stopping their fight for a better tomorrow.”
He added that the youth he met included employees in catering, delivery, technical work, small business owners, young parents, students, and even young farmers who participated in local protests.
Tsipras also met with professionals in construction, discussing job insecurity, taxation, workforce shortages, and rising material costs. He then spoke with representatives from the Platykampos Farmers Association and the Melivoia Agricultural Cooperative about challenges and innovations in local production and product processing.
Finally, he was briefed by Dimitris Koureta on flood protection measures following the passage of storm Daniel, and visited the Averof Agricultural School to discuss the institution’s role in agricultural education.
